Well... outdated as it is I can still allways answer the question... atleast to some degree.
The reason the Bhaalspawn saga is not talked about in the Drizzt books is 'cuz it didn't happen. Ofcourse it did happen, but not in the world wich RA writes in. Wizards themselves said that you (or the maker of the advanture) may decide wheter to take the Bhallspawn saga into account as a even that has occured, or to dismiss it as if it never happened.
This was answered somwhere in Candlekeep, by the way...
