I know Legacy of the Drow was about Lolth's battles against Drizzt, but when is it set exactly? Does it come directly after the Dark Elf Trilogy?

No. The "proper" order regarding timelines would be the Dark Elf Trilogy, The Icewind Dale Trilogy, and then The Legacy of the Drow collector's edition. (sorry, I didn't buy the single books, I bought the collector's edition...... )

My apologies for my ignorance, my lord, but why would a deity need to buy a book? And what would be the shipping charge to your realm?

Vhaeraun sneers and echoes a chilling laugh. "The better to keep an eye on Drizzt, the object of the Spider Queen's Ultimate Favor. Think about it. He is a harbinger of chaos, what with all his incidents."

For any inerested in the Drow Books written, whether you be a Drizzt fan or otherwise. Here are the books by RAS in chronological order:
The Dark Elf Trilogy Homeland Exile Sojourn
The Icewind Dale Trilogy The Crystal Shard Streams of Silver The Halfling's Gem
Legacy of the Drow The Legacy Starless Night Siege of Darkness Passage To Dawn The Silent Blade
Paths of Darkness The Spine of the World Servant of the Shard Sea of Swords
The Hunter's Blades Trilogy The Thousand Orcs The Lone Drow The Two Swords (October 2004)
The short stories, I have not compiled yet, have been trying to get Mike to do that.
The war of the Spider Queen is overseen by RAS but each is actually written by a different author.

That is the chronological Faerun order. The chronological order in which they were written has The Icewind Dale Trilogy before The Dark Elf Trilogy

I am awre of that, but it is easier to read with less confusion if you read it by FAerun timeline. At least in my opinion, years ago I was frustrated I had to go back and read what I had missed because some things did not make sense. Truly though it's up to the reader. The way that was listed and what I listed are both correct.
